Bahar spent her life immersed in food and travel, from importing Italian wine and training at Le Cordon Bleu in Florence, to working with Michelin-starred chefs across Europe and Asia, along the way helping to launch restaurants in Chile and Tehran.
On moving to London, she started Persian Meal Box in 2019, delivering homemade Persian dishes to people craving a taste of home. This expanded into private catering, then supplying local cafés, and eventually cafés at Triyoga sites in Chelsea, Ealing and Camden.
Bahar dreamed of creating a hospitality space that was rooted in her Persian culture, which saw her open Meykade in 2024, a café and natural wine bar in Chelsea.
Meykade was born of a desire to bring the warmth, hospitality, artistry and spirit of Persian gatherings to a modern London setting.
The Meykade logo features an elegant, stylised Qajar-era woman, as well as the arches typical of Persian architecture. The logo is intended to reflect tradition with a modern twist, like the food, space and philosophy at the café – and the heritage, strength and passion of the woman behind Meykade.
