Rod Eslamieh shortlisted for BIH Spotlight Awards

Rod Eslamieh, co-owner of Chapter 72 in London’s Bermondsey, has been shortlisted for Drinks Professional of the Year in the BIH Spotlight Awards.

The award looks to celebrate sommeliers, mixologists, brewers and other drinks professionals who are helping to shape and build an exciting future in drinks, as well as recognise those who have made broader contributions to the sector and community organisations.

Eslamieh has been shortlisted for the award alongside Nina Dornoo-Dornor of Cocktail Mania, Deano Moncrieffe of Hacha bar in Dalston, and Imie Augier of Soda and Friends in Canning Town.

The awards present the opportunity for nominees and winners to build new networks and audiences while celebrating some of the brightest stars of hospitality’s present and the future.

The winners will be decided by a judging panel of industry experts and announced at an awards ceremony at Percy’s Kensington on 24 October 2022.

Eslamieh owns and runs the coffee and cocktail shop with his wife Ellie, which was born out of a passion for great coffee and delicious cocktails. An independent business, they ethically source coffee beans from farmers around the world who promote good practices on their farms.

This is the inaugural year for the Be Inclusive Hospitality (BIH) Spotlight Awards, designed to celebrate and recognise exceptional talent and achievement from Black, Asian, and ethnic minorities working within hospitality, food, and drink. Be Inclusive Hospitality is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to accelerate race equity within the sector.
