Sahar Fate

Founder, Tahdiglover

Fluffy and buttery on the inside with a perfectly golden crust, tahdig is a highlight of Persian cuisine – and Sahar Fate is among its biggest enthusiasts.

Literally meaning ‘bottom of the pot’, the crispy rice-based has long been a showstopper at a Persian table.

Sahar, who is originally from Esfahan, created Tahdiglover, an Instagram page dedicated to the famous Persian dish back in November 2018.

A keen football fan and, originally a football analyst, Sahar turned her attention to one of her other passions and began to grow her platform, creating a community of ‘tahdig lovers’ across the globe.

Spurred on by a wave of creativity and her new-found downtime during the Covid-19 enforced lockdown in 2020, Sahar took advantage of the greater reliance on digital platforms during the pandemic by running a series of live chef interviews. These included speaking to Modern Persian Kitchen, Bita's Kitchen, VartaMelon, Likeittotaste, sw3Kitchen, Aliya's Vibrant Life, and Ali Bidarbakht.

Together, with the support of small businesses in the UK, Sahar then launched a series of Tahdiglover products, including Tahdiglover pots, aprons, and her popular starter kits which include barberries, saffron, a wooden spatula, and a rice bonnet.

She plans to continue to develop her range in the future.
